The difference between the south and north is drastic; southern regions like Skåne has a milder climate as well as closer contacts with the European continent. The north of Sweden on the other hand has enormous forests, rivers and a fantastic fauna among many other things.

Somewhere between the south and the north lies Stockholm, the capital of Sweden since 1523.
